Baldur is the Norse god of light and son to Odin and Freya. He was subjected to a spell of his mother's which granted him invulnerability to all threats, physical or magical. Answering Odin's call to hunt down Kratos, Baldur would do battle with Kratos and Atreus several times during the latter two's personal journey before finally being killed once his invulnerability spell was broken by Atreus through the use of mistletoe. Baldur's death signaled the beginning of Fimbulwinter, the three-year long winter that precedes Ragnarök.
