Summary[]
The Dagger of Brutus was a short blade which belonged to the Roman Senator and Hidden One Marcus Junius Brutus, and was commonly believed to be the same weapon Brutus used to assassinate Julius Caesar in the curia of the Theatre of Pompey.
Following Brutus' suicide in 42 BCE after losing the Battle of Philippi during the last war of the Roman Republic, the dagger was sealed away in an underground chamber in Rome alongside his armor. In 1503 the Italian Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze found the chamber, and claimed both the dagger and armor for his own.
