Summary[]

The Pirate Scimitar was a curved sword with an elaborate silver hilt made popular by pirates in the 18th century. The design was sold in general stores across the Caribbean in the early 18th century and continued to be prevalent as late as mid-century in Louisiana, in New York, and in settlements along the Hudson and St. Lawrence river valleys.
