Summary[]
A status effect is a temporary modification to a character’s original set of stats. The term status effect can be applied both to changes that provide a character an advantage (increased attributes, defensive barriers, regeneration, etc.), and those that hinder the character (decreased attributes, incapacitation, degeneration, etc.).
Possible Uses[]
- Decrease the opponent's physical stats (making them weaker, slowing them down, etc.)
- Put the opponent into a state in which they're incapable of fighting (making them fall asleep, paralyse them, making them go blind, etc.)
- Poison the opponent, which will slowly kill them.
- Disable one or more of the opponent's abilities.
- Many others.
